For this exercise, depending on how advanced you are in working out, you can use body weights, dumbbells or the barbell - all are effective

Complete this workout once a week. Mix a cardio routine and/or ab workout with this workout as well. I would recommend doing the stair master or walking/running uphill for cardio (about 15-20 minutes post workout)

  1. First, I find your enthusiasm and excitement so genuine! I was on pintrest and your post your one post caught my eye, here we belong to the same gym, small world! I am new to the world of working out (although I really needed it long before now). I am always looking for "beginner" advice. I have a question about your protein shakes and other GNC related items you use in cooking. Are those items that someone like myself who is looking to lose weight should be using?

    1. Hi Jen! We work out at the same gmy?! Really?! That's so funny! Would I know what you look like? I actually do have some clients that I train, if you were interested in getting together to set up a workout plan for you, let me know! I will be sure to add more "beginner" things on here, I have taken a more advanced approach on most of my posts. Protein shakes are always great, but do not really aid in weight loss. Post workout protein drinks really help to feed your muscles when you finish working out. Just because they don't necessarily play a big roll in weight loss, I would still recommend a post workout shake to anyone working out. I would, however, recommend GNC Lean shakes. They are more to help aid in fat loss, and act more as a meal replacer. I really do not recommend taking any fat burners, they really are hard on your body ({liver especially). If you are looking to burn more fat, I would say to try out CLA. It is a natural fat burner, and you can find it at any drugstore or GNC (GNC does have an awesome CLA brand that you can't find anywhere else - take about 6-7 pills a day to see results). I also love lemon water. I drink it all the time to help serve as another natural fat burner. Check out my blog post about Quinoa, also. It is great and high in protein and is gluten free. Any quinoa dish is going to be a great filler if you're trying to feel full but still eat healthy.
If you see me in the gym, def. say hello, I'd really like to talk! Hope I've provided you with some noteworthy advice, let me know if you have any more in questions. I can go a lot more in depth with all of this, but I don't want to bore you (ha ha!)
      Talk soon!

    2. Thanks Felicia! Very helpful, I will check out the CLA for sure. I did see your recipe for Quinoa and it looked delish, which is helpful when trying to eat healthy. Sometimes you want something more than a salad. Thanks again!
